Community Benefit
Ohio hospitals provided $2.2 billion in benefit to their community above and beyond the health care services they provide to their patients.
OHA’s 2009 Community Benefit Report, Good Neighbors, is a statewide snapshot of how Ohio hospitals invest in their communities: stimulating the economy and creating quality jobs, covering shortfalls in reimbursement for care provided to Medicaid, offering discounted and free care to low-income patients and sponsoring community activities focused on prevention and wellness.
Tell Your Local Legislators the Tax Hurts You
March 3, 2010:
OHA created templates letters for CEOs as well as hospital/health system employees to let local legislators know they are angry the hospital is paying a tax to the state when it could be using those funds to hire staff or expand the local economy. With a few simple clicks, the letters can be e-mailed or printed and mailed to local legislators.
